Program Details

This full-day workshop will provide beginner-to-intermediate-level practitioners with information about adverse impact from technical, legal, and practical perspectives. The overall objective is to help participants become familiar with the definition of adverse impact, relevant regulatory guidelines, how to examine adverse impact (e.g., statistical vs. practical methods), and best practices to respond to and avoid adverse impact. As time permits, participants will take part in exercises and/or discussions that will help them apply the knowledge and skills discussed.

Finally, the session will include suggestions for employers on how to respond to a finding of adverse impact and to reduce the likelihood of adverse impact.
