Overview:

Project manage people science and optimization initiatives, including, but not limited to, the development and implementation of assessments leveraged in the employee lifecycle to ensure projects are conducted efficiently and effectively. Support assessment vendor management and oversee assessment technology platforms. Assist in job analyses (job research, interviews, focus groups, surveys, and the like) and author interview questions designed to identify talent. Ensure initiatives are grounded in research and science and adhere to legal guidelines and Macy’s policies.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Write interview questions and behaviorally anchored ratings scales (BARS)
  • Train end users on new assessment tools; Build and distribute training materials as needed
  • Collaborate with internal client groups to understand their needs and scope out solutions
  • Partner with legal to ensure legal guidelines and Macy’s policies are met
  • Assist in job analysis steps, including but not limited to internal and external research, scheduling and leading focus groups, one-on-one research interviews, job observations, surveys
  • Maintain databases of competencies, skills, interview questions, BARS
  • Build and refine resources to help facilitate traditional IO project work
  • Research industry trends and provide guidance to the team
  • Gain continuous feedback on the use and perceived value of assessment tools
  • Assist with data analysis and visualization, as needed
  • Oversee assessment vendor management; Serve as liaison for all assessment technology platform needs by providing user access to assessment systems and troubleshooting needs

Qualifications:

      Education/Experience:     

MA/MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field.  1 to 2 years of applied experience in assessments, job analysis, talent management projects; all including direct client interaction.

      Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to read, write, and interpret scientific documents such as statistical reports. Ability to communicate data results via graphs, charts, and tables.

      Mathematical Skills:

Must have above average mathematical skills, including statistical knowledge and application of descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis, and others.  

      Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

      Physical Demands:

This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and the office equipment. May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. 

      Other skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Office 365; Familiarity with SPSS.

      Work Hours:

Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
