FLSA Status: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt

Travel: This position requires approximately 25% travel

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Summary

The Associate Consultant is primarily responsible for obtaining and fulfilling test development and consulting projects for public safety organizations, such as fire and police departments.  This individual will work directly with clients to provide job analysis, written test development, assessment center development, candidate orientations, and project coordination and administration.  The Associate Consultant will respond to RFPs and leads provided by Sales and Client Services.  The Associate Consultant will maintain a client base, follow-up with clients, provide high level customer service, support product development, and have strong teamwork skills.  This individual will be evaluated on their contribution to the success of the Professional Services Team and the company, and work closely with all Ergometrics’ departments (Operations, IT, Accounting, and Sales) to ensure quality deliverables.    

Essential Functions

  • Develop job analyses (JAs)
  • Develop written test items based on source material (SOP, text, etc.)
  • Develop situational judgment written test items
  • Work with professional services team to develop assessment center exercises
  • Develop candidate preparation materials
  • Recruit and coordinate assessors
  • Develop and produce all necessary project materials
  • Work with professional services team to ensure effective administration and coordination
  • Analyze results and prepare final reports
  • Coordinate and prepare proposals for submission
  • Contribute to product development projects
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, a Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology or related field is preferred
  • Two to five years of work experience is preferred.     
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and editing/revising skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and develop strategies to solve problem
  • Outgoing, comfortable and effective in professional settings
  • Takes a proactive approach to completing tasks; actively searches for ways to help others 
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team setting
  • Flexible; adapts well to changing circumstances
