MAPAC
The Mid-Atlantic Personnel Assessment Consortium (MAPAC) held a highly successful meeting on September 26th and 27th in Alexandria, Virginia. The meeting included presentations on "Use and Validation of the Municipal Police Selection Test" by Bruce Davey; "Considerations in the Use of Pre-Employment Medical Inquiries" by David Arnold; "Review of the Draft Standards for Educational and Psychological Tests" by Wanda Campbell; "Biodata: Deciding When and How to Use it" by Jay Gandy; and "MAPAC On-Line" by David Hamill. WRIPAC
The Western Region Intergovernmental Personnel Assessment Council (WRIPAC) held its fall meeting on September 19th and 20th in Santa Barbara. The meeting included presentations on "Reinventing the Personnel Function" by Anita Ford; "Development of a Series of Structured Supplemental Applications to Replace Traditional Interviews, by Dr. Bill Donnoe; "What Assessment Professionals can do for Personnel Managers, by Jurutha Brown, Kay Evleth, and Susan Toy Stern; and "Establishing and Conveying the Cost of Human Resources Interventions in the Public Sector" by Dr. Ken Shultz. Metropolitan New York Association for Applied Psychology

PTC/Arizona
The Personnel Testing Council of Arizona will conduct a half-day workshop on 360 degree feedback systems on October 24th. A program addressing the use of the internet by recruiting and staffing professionals is planned for early 1997. PTC/Northern California
Personnel Testing Council of Northern California presented a discussion of the California Civil Rights Initiative at its September luncheon meeting. A workshop on score banding is scheduled for October, and the topic for the November luncheon meeting is g-factor in selection. Personnel Testing Council of Southern California will hold its fall conference in Newport Beach, California on October 10th and 11th. The November 13th luncheon meeting will include Dr. Elizabeth Kolmstetter's presidential address as well as the business meeting. Dr. Joyce Hogan will be the speaker at the December 11th meeting. WRIB
The Western Region Item Bank (WRIB) is a cooperative organization of public agencies using a computerized test item bank. Services include draft test questions with complete item history, preparation of "printer ready" exams, and exam scoring and item analysis. Membership includes 175 agencies nation-wide.
