IPMAAC's 20th Anniversary in Boston-The Excitement is Building
The conference committee is putting the final touches on what is certain to be an exciting and information filled conference held June 23-27 at the 57 Park Plaza Hotel in Boston. The program will offer a wide range of topics and session formats. Some of the highlights include:
Pre-Conference Workshops
The program has a full offering of half-day workshops sure to appeal to all experience levels and interests. Morning sessions include: How to Select a Commercially Available Test, Basic Statistics for Powerful Written Tests, Developing Video Tests in House, and Test Item Construction Using Specified Job Knowledge Levels. Afternoon offerings are: Developing and Administering Oral Exams, Intermediate Level Test Statistics, The Basics of Personnel Selection and a Legal Issues Case Study.
Invited Speakers
The conference will open with a Keynote Address by Dr. Robert Guion and be followed on Tuesday and Wednesday by WRIPAC and MAPAC invited speakers Dr. Michael Campion and Dr. Lyle Spencer. Finally, the conference will come to a dynamic close with a presentation on perspectives on the future of testing by Dr. Marvin Dunnette and Dr. Leaettta Hough.
Foundations Track
A new addition to the traditional conference program, the foundations track will offer in-depth training sessions on topics that serve as the foundations of quality personnel selection. The workshops will be taught by some of IPMAAC's best trainers and include Job Analysis Made Easy, Alternative Assessment Methods in Personnel Selection, and The Basics of Designing Job Simulation/Assessment Center Exercises.
Concurrent Sessions
The remainder of the conference program is filled sessions presented by our colleagues providing the latest in research, new programs, test development and validation, organizational and management issues, technology, and dealing with the many challenges faced by those in personnel selection.
Host Activities
Starting with the welcoming reception on Sunday evening, the host committee has planned a host program befitting a 20th anniversary celebration. Other activities include a scavenger hunt, a walking tour, a baseball game, and an afternoon anniversary celebration sponsored by WRIPAC.
